How To Cool Down Your Phone
Feeling the heat this Summer, but your cell phone should keep cool. Here are 6 tips to keep your mobile phone from having an overheating problem.
- Keep your mobile phone out of direct sunlight and avoid leaving it in your car where the temperature can be hot. Add some extra layers of protection by keeping your device inside a wallet clutch. - Charge your phone battery at night time when the temperatures are a bit cooler. When you have to charge the battery of your device for a long period of time, be sure to charge on a cool, hard surface to avoid an overheating problem. (Link to universal charger)
- Separate your phone from other gadgets. If you have it stacked with other devices, such as a computer, especially if it is running, there is more likelihood for phone overheating issues.
- Power save. Turn off any unused apps to save energy and battery life. Check your settings and make sure all apps are up to date. Apps running on your cell phone in the background may have a minimal effect on power consumption, however they can slow down your phone during use overall. Exiting an app makes your phone not have to work as hard during use and can extend the battery life as well.
- Even though, you may not see the screen correctly, don’t turn up the brightness in your settings. This only adds to the heat by attracting more light to your phone which leads to increased phone temperature. - If your phone temperature is already high, take off your case for a bit and let it cool down on a cool, dry surface. Be careful when removing the case as it could be very hot. The cool down process can take a few minutes, so ensure you able to give it ample time for rest. Once you have it out of the case and it’s not hot to the touch, hold the phone in front of a fan to help bring the temperature down. Never put your phone in the refrigerator or freezer as this can cause serious damage to the hardware.
