If you've been waiting to get the iPhone 5 because the cost of the phone didn't warrant the upgrade from your old smartphone, now is the time to strike, as many retailers have started selling cheap iPhone 5’s.
We had documented that Apple was rumored to have been planning a trade in program
for the first time ever this month. While there has been no real word of this just yet, there are some really great deals going on right now if you are looking to upgrade.
Like Apple, Best Buy had been rumored to be doing a trade in program. Unlike Apple, however, that is actually happening. Right now actually. Best Buy
is offering up to $150 for used, working iPhone 4 and 4s, as long as they are in good condition. And, now that they've slashed the price of the iPhone 5 to $150, it is essentially free with the trade in. They carry AT&T, Verizon and Sprint versions of the phone.
Wal-Mart has taken $60 off the price of their iPhone 5, making it a cheap $129. And AT&T has followed suit by slashing their prices in half. This would make the iPhone 5 a cool $99.
We can only assume that Apple is attempting to get rid of some inventory in anticipation of the next iteration of the iPhone, possible the iPhone 5s. Whatever the reason, we consumers get to reap the benefits.
If you do choose to upgrade, remember to get yourself a case and screen protector
for your new iPhone!
