Will it work with a Life time case?

Answer  Unfortunately, the chances are NO. This is an honest answer based on my experience. It will plug in to any case. That isn't the problem. The problem is: the end that connects directly to the iPhone has 2 side prongs that retract as you squeeze the built in l and r buttons. From the day I received it, the quality on this particular part did not retract and release to the point that when plugged in to charge, it came loose and pulled out. In other words yes any case will fit it, but it will not insert and stay. Meaning, it is worthless as a charger.

Does this work with an OLD iPod 3G....the one that has four buttons under the screen?

Answer  Not sure? We have the Iphone 3GS. It works great while travelling.
