Answer  I couldn't tell you with 100% certainty if the battery was new or not but it did do the job for me. I only had the phone for a few more months after I picked up the new battery so I couldn't say what kind of lifespan it will give. From my experience it was a good value.

Answer  This battery works well, but did not seem to hold a charge as long as the OEM battery after about 6 months. I have had it about 10 months and it still works, but now I have to charge it twice a day. However, I am not good about following charging instructions. I often charge my phone over night, which I know can drain a battery more quickly. You might have better luck with it, if your charging habits are better than mine. Overall, it was a good purchase.
