Answer This phone does take a SIM card to operate. You have to double check with straight tAlk. For sure it will would with AT&Tor T-mobile.

Answer Jerry, I have AT&T and not sure if it will work on cricket service. What I will say is I am not very happy with the phone at all, It took multiple times sending the phone back to get one that even get a dial tone. It may be me, but the AT&T rep also had a problem with trying. I have also not been able to get photo's sent to me by text, probably some setting that I am unaware of. I love the razr phone but having to use the old one.
Answer This phone will only work with carriers that use SIM cards. This will not work with Crickett.

Hi, you just answered my SIM card question. And I understand but now I've found "SIM Card Activation Kits". My confusion now is: In the description of these kits they make the comments differentiating phones on Plans and PrePay and a $30 activation with code. I have a T-Mobile Plan and I'v'e lost my current phone and want to replace it with the OLD Motorola razr V3 I had 5 years ago. Checking the various "buys" available it seems that they do not have SIMs and I don't have one to put in it. How should I handle this?

Answer If you already have a SIM card, you put your current SIM card in this phone and this phone will then have your number and can be used. So in this case since you do not have a SIM, you would have to contact T mobile for a new one. -Regina

I was reading your questions before I order the Razr, Don't understand one think, since AT&T and Verizon are two different networks,. Att phones use sims card and Verizon does not how will I know which phone service the phone is for, unlocked only means you can use it with any carrier who the phone is made for, AT&T, T-Mobile is one carrier, Verizon, Sprint is another, I have been using an unlocked phone?
with sims card on att, not I want a new phone but don't think an unlocked phones works with anyone.

Answer This specific phone is unlocked. It will not work with Verizon. This phone will only work with service providers that use SIM cards, suck as AT&T and T-Mobile. -Regina

Answer the RAZR V3xx is for the GSM network (AT&T, T-Mobile, many parts of the world). I'm don't think the V3xx will work on the Verizon network, because it's not a GSM service. hope that helps.
